Part 2 of “Listening Prayer”

A few days ago I opened up a post speaking about how we have been called to rule and reign on this earth as a prophet, priest and king. And that, as we walk in our authority in these roles, we will see transformation in our personal lives, the lives around us, and even the nations.

 

Following is the conclusion of my synopsis of what it means to stand as a prophet in the place of listening prayer… I pray that your life and more importantly, your prayer life, will be radically shifted and transformed as you exercise these principles…

We see in James 1:19 says, “Let every man be QUICK to HEAR (a ready listener), SLOW to SPEAK, SLOW to take offense and get angry.” We also see an incredible scripture in Ecclesiastes 5:1-2 “To draw near to HEAR and OBEY is better than to give the sacrifice of fools…Be not rash with your mouth, and let not your heart be hasty to utter a word before God. For God is in heaven, and you are on the earth; therefore, let your words be few.” Do you know the definition of the sacrifice of fools? It is incredible! It means; humanly initiated talk! So we can look at this scripture like this: “To draw near to HEAR and OBEY is better than humanly initiated talk.” Did you see that? Isn’t that incredible?

Jesus talked about Himself saying in John 5:30 “I am able to do nothing from MYSELF- independently, of My OWN accord, but as I am taught by God, my Father, and as I get His orders.” (I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the VOICE comes to Me, so I give a decision. Even as I HEAR, I judge and my judgment is right, because I do not seek or consult my own will – I have no desire to do what is pleasing to myself, my own aim, my own purpose – but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent me.” NOW this was Jesus, the son of GOD talking. We are to pattern everything we do after Jesus. He showed us by example. Did you catch that He did not say a word, without hearing it first from the Father! You see, He taught us that we need to be silent before the Lord fist. Not silent for sake of silence, but for the sake of ATTENTIVE LISTENING to what HE has to say about any given situation that we are facing. We cannot talk and listen at the same time can we?

Furthermore, it is not enough to hear the WORDS of God, we must become so intimate with Him that we hear His heartbeat! It is only in that place where we gain true understanding. We can hear someone’s words from across a crowded room, but if we do not know that person, their words alone can be misinterpreted. It takes an intimate relationship to hear their heart. So is with God the Father. So we not only need to HEAR what God is SAYING, but we need to WAIT in His presence for the UNDERSTANDING of what we are hearing. He may show you something that He may want you to release in prayer, but you need to wait on Him to get the understanding for that which He showed you and understanding on HOW He may want you to release it. After that we must wait for the proper TIMING to release what God is saying in the hearing of others. We do NOT want to release it before it’s time.

The PROPHET speaks that which has been incubated in his intimate relationship with God. He communicates MORE than mere WORDS – he communicates the very heartbeat of God – the living , active, creative words of GOD!

What circumstances are you facing in your life? Is it sickness, disease, lack? Is there hysteria in your marriage or is your marriage under fire? Are your children rebelling and walking away from you and away from God? No matter how bad the situation looks in the “natural” KNOW that God is bigger! By faith – step into this secret place of prophetic prayer and release what you HEAR God tell you to release! I have seen so many situations change supernaturally as GOD’S WILL was released in them. I have seen miraculous healing of cancer, even with my own niece and mom, as well as other diseases! I have seen God come in, in the face of death, and release HIS will, and then seen destinies and situations changed! Not just in the lives of others, but my life! If you ever get a chance to read the book the Lord asked me to write, “The Quest for Freedom”, you will see supernatural miracles of GOD!

I want to encourage you, don’t stop!!! Keep standing!!! And now, I pray that this tool that I have placed on my blog will bless you, and that you will have the courage to try it, and step into a new and DEEPER and HIGHER level of prayer and see God intervene! When I learned this, my entire life changed! I know that God is NO respecter of persons, so if this teaching helped me step into the realization of who I am in Christ and Who He is in me, and the authority I have to release in any given situation because of the one that SENT ME, and see things shift, I know that it will do the same for you.

What is your identity? You are called the child of the only and mighty KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS, you carry the full authority of heaven that backs you us as you release HIS words, not your words. Remember you are NOW seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. As you release HIS words out of this first place as a prophet, the place of listening prayer, ALL must obey His words as they come forth out of your mouth! The enemy will always try to attack us in our identity. If you do not know who you are in Christ, he will have a place to mess with you. I pray that you are coming into the realization of who you are in HIM and the power that you have in your mouth as you release in prayer HIS WORDS!

Would you ever think of yourself as a prophet, priest or a king?? Part 1 of “Listening Prayer”

A while back, I was very fortunate to sit under an amazing teacher, Ann Kramer, and learn some powerful lessons in spiritual warfare, that I never even knew existed! These teachings radically transformed my prayer life, with the result being that it radically changed my life as I had known it up to that point.

At the end of this year, I was given the privilege to teach this same message that so impacted me, to a group of amazing women. Seeing the spark of revelation in their eyes as they were exposed to this truth was so fantastic to watch. So much so, that I want to pass this message along to EVERYONE that has ears to hear…

Did you know that you are called by God to rule here on earth as a prophet, priest and king through Jesus Christ? You may say, “what is she talking about?” Well…I am glad you asked!

What I am about to share with you may seem so familiar, yet, in that famliarity, don’t miss some very important keys.

 

As children of God, we represent Jesus to man by the same pattern that Jesus’ ministry on earth represented God to man. The Father sent Jesus, and we are SENT by JESUS as well. John 20:21, “Jesus said to his disciples, “Just as the FATHER has SENT me forth, so I am SENDING YOU.” The emphasis in NOT on the SENT one, but the SENDER! Jesus’ ministry manifested in three ways: He was a PROPHET, He was a PRIEST and He was a KING.

Our 1st and most important thing is to step into our place as a prophet. I do not mean the “call of a Prophet,” or the “mantle of a Prophet”. When I say as a sent one, the prophet goes as a representative of Jesus. A prophet only represents what he hears and sees! So, I simply mean one that hears the Father and hears what He is saying and sees what He is doing. So, he represents what he hears and sees the Father say and do in any given situation. This means, whatever you are facing in life, as you are releasing what you are seeing and hearing the Father tell you to release, you are bring into your situation the representation of Heaven, or God! When you do that, everything that is contrary to His will and representation MUST change according to what His will is! It must bow it’s knee!

Back to more of what I mean when I am talking here about “prophet”…the word of God says that “His children KNOW and HEAR His voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.” So, in this sense, when I am talking about our role as a prophet, I mean simply one that hears the Lord. See, it is in that secret place, in our prayer time when we NEED to LISTEN to HEAR what our Heavenly Father is telling us, what HE wants us to pray or release in whatever situation we are facing. We should not just go in prayer and start praying whatever we “see” happening in the natural. We do not pray the PROBLEM! He will always have us pray the solution. The solution may be 99% of the time, by FAITH. Faith is NOT SEEN in the natural, it is in the spiritual realm.

So, we need to 1st go in that prayer as prophets, so as ones that are there to LISTEN and hear and see what HE wants us to release and pray. He knows the end from the beginning! He sees the entire picture, the things we don’t see, and therefore, as He tells us what to pray and release, and we DO IT, you better believe that it will HIT THE MARK!

A lot of times our prayers are like loading a shot gun and shooting it – and there are all these little pellets that go everywhere, and we are hoping that at least just one of them will “hit the mark”. When we are praying out of our own perspective – not from what we have heard, not out of a “LISTENING PRAYER” or as a prophet – but what we see in the natural, or what we THINK we should pray from our own understanding, we are hoping that maybe just one word we pray will hit the mark of whatever we are going through!

BUT when we come out of the place of a prophet – meaning one that hears, or “LISTENING PRAYER” it is like we are shooting a RIFLE! We aim according to what we heard from our heavenly Father, we aim from HIS directions, according to what He wants us to release in prayer, and as we do, it will HIT THAT TARGET with one bullet! ONE word prayed that we heard our heavenly Daddy tell us to release will HIT the mark, and will take the place of all of our hours in prayer according to OUR understanding and human intellect. Prayer is NOT “God, this is what I see, and this is what I want You to do about it.” BUT prayer IS, “God, what do YOU see, and what do You want me to pray or do about it?”
